I am also missing vnetsup.vxd,vredir.vxd and dfs.vxd.
You see,I accidently deleted my display card and I had to reinstall it.
So can anyone please send me the missing files because I lost my windows98 cd.
My email is carmageddon87@yahoo.com

Yeah. I HAD the same error. But i fixed it... missing files u can download:
www.hot.ee/sulikweb/dfs.vxd --> (dfs.vxd)
www.hot.ee/sulikweb/msnp32.dll --> (msnp32.dll)
http://www.hot.ee/sulikweb/VNETSUP.VXD -->(vnestup.vxd)
http://www.hot.ee/sulikweb/Vredir.vxd --> I'TS WORKING!!!! (vredir.vxd)

download these files to your c:windows/system directory... and then here is the difficult part:

1.Restart the computer.
2.When you see Starting Windows 98 or 95 press the F8 key immediately.
3.Choose Safe Mode from the menu that appears.
4.When the computer finishes starting up, choose Start:Settings:Control Panel
5.Double click on the Network icon.
6.Click once on Client for Microsoft Networks and click Remove

Your computer will prompt you to restart. After restarting, all should be fine.

[i got $30 for fixing that problem !!!]

Pretty simple!!

Delete the Network adapters u have. Go to the registry and from the delete the vnetsup and dfs keys from the Local Machine --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> Services key. And restart! Add the drivers again and U will be all set to go!!

It took me 15 minutes to solve.

Email me if you have any more questions about this, or any other windows or unix issues. ( ykhasimi@hotmail.com )
