I am facing the same problem
I am also missing vnetsup.vxd,vredir.vxd and dfs.vxd.
You see,I accidently deleted my display card and I had to reinstall it.
So can anyone please send me the missing files because I lost my windows98 cd.

..Yeah..well i have the same problem with the missing "Msnp32.dll" but i do have it! ..in c/win/system.....but win reports that it canīt load the DLL.LIBRARY.
The other files "vredir/dfs/vnetsup" i had them on another pc..SO they are back in my system.This all come from when installing a netcard...i had same probs before but cant remeber what i did to fix it...probably just reinstalled win....

Yeah. I HAD the same error. But i fixed it... missing files u can download:
www.hot.ee/sulikweb/dfs.vxd --> (dfs.vxd)
www.hot.ee/sulikweb/msnp32.dll --> (msnp32.dll)
http://www.hot.ee/sulikweb/VNETSUP.VXD -->(vnestup.vxd)
http://www.hot.ee/sulikweb/Vredir.vxd --> I'TS WORKING!!!! (vredir.vxd)download these files to your c:windows/system directory... and then here is the difficult part:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When you see Starting Windows 98 or 95 press the F8 key immediately.
3.Choose Safe Mode from the menu that appears.
4.When the computer finishes starting up, choose Start:Settings:Control Panel
5.Double click on the Network icon.
6.Click once on Client for Microsoft Networks and click RemoveYour computer will prompt you to restart. After restarting, all should be fine.
[i got $30 for fixing that problem !!!]

I had the same problem after making format c:Well you have to make fdisk from dos with a boot disk before format the hard disk.Then delete the init partition and when this had done create it again. Then meke format c: and the problem is over.

you're a bit up yourself, aren't you? : )

Pretty simple!!
Delete the Network adapters u have. Go to the registry and from the delete the vnetsup and dfs keys from the Local Machine --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> Services key. And restart! Add the drivers again and U will be all set to go!!
It took me 15 minutes to solve.
