Cannot prevent installation with WinX.

If yours has this feature, set your BIOS to prompt for a password on boot.

Then set a supervisor's password to prevent anyone from changing your BIOS settings.

You may also try to lock the computer with some kind of program

You only can acces the pc with a password.

There are various ways to stop someone from using your computer.

1 - Take the power cord with you.

2 - Take the mouse with you.

3- Take the keyboard with you.

4 - Set a logon password in the BIOS.

If you are not technical savvy, then you may definitely want to consider a program/utility that will lock your computer screen and require a password to use computer.

Good Luck !

In the Internet Options in the Tools menu you have the ability to disable all file downloads. That may stop the downloading of Msn Messenger (it's full of security holes)

If you do see MSN messenger loaded on your computer use a personal firewall software (like zone alarm) to deny MSN messenger access to the Internet.
