Hi Daniel, hello everyone,

You can extract it from the Win98 disk using SFC.

Click on Start and Run.
Type sfc and click OK.
Select Extract one file from installation disk.
Type msinfo32.exe.
Click on Start.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Hi Daniel, hi Mesich

There is a browser hijacker around that has MSINFO missing, as one of its symptoms.

To see if this is your problem, look here for more info, and a patch that will fix it.

Just reading this post and got to wondering where msinfo32.exe was located on my pc. Guess what couldn't find it anywhere.

I can type it in Run and my MS System Information window will open with all the info about my system.

What am I missing here?

Msinfo32.exe is fine. Msinfo.exe is the one that the virus keeps asking for. It was a genuine MS file but old and often not present.
