MSIEXEC caused an invalid page fault in
module MSIEXEC.exe at 0167:00400280.When I try to reinstall it.....

I have the same problem too. I try to istall antivirus programs but they won't work. I get the same message. Whenever you get a reply can you pls send me what you find.

I can't install my Norton 2002 Internet Security software. I have tried several times now it tells me in can't find Msiexec.exe file and I can't find it either. What is up with this software??

I had Norton 2002 on one hard disk, which no longer booted to Windows. I tried to install it to a new hard drive, and now I get the "Can't find the msiexec.exe" message.
Is it Norton, or MicroSoft that is the bane of my existence?

I got this reply below from Norton.com Now I get an error when Iam trying to To reinstall the Microsoft Windows Installer.. Let me know if this works for anyone...
It looks like your Microsoft Installer may have been damaged by the
virus infection. MSIEXEC is a MS Installer file. If the installation
continues to fail with this error you may want to update the Microsoft
Installer. Here's how:To update or reinstall the Microsoft Windows Installer:
You can download the current version of the Installer at
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/instmsi.htm
by
clicking the link for your operating system. After downloading the installation file, run the following command
line:c:\msi\instmsi.exe /T:c:\msi\ /C
(this assumes that you copied the file to C:\msi)
