I am running Win 98se on a 433 Celeron, with 256 ram, heaps of HD space, and a 56k modem. I can connect to the net alright, but MS Internet Exp won't load up any sites, it just displays DNS Error, and the details show invalid page fault. Sometimes it says iexplore.exe has caused an error, or rpcss has caused error. Also, I notice when it trys to load a site, it displays at bottom res:c:\windows\systesm\shdoclc.dll\dns error Thanks for help, I've never had this prob before.

There are several things that can cause a DNS ERROR message. Let's check a few of the simple things first.
On you I.E. browser select Tools>Internet Options>Connection. Make sure there is not multiple listings here. If there is remove the ones that are no longer needed.
Next go to Control Panel>Dial up Networking and right click the connection you are using. Click properties and the the Server Type Tab. Click TCP/IP Settings. Ensure there is a Primary DNS entered here. If not you will need to get the DNS from your service provider.
If these suggestions don't help you the post back because there are some other things than could be causing your error. Tought we would try the easier ones first.
