Hi all,
I have seen a common error on Win95 & Win98 laptops that lock up the PC. They connect to a Novell network and when they boot up, it hangs at the client32 splash screen. I CTRL-ALT-DEL and I get the message, "msgsrv32 (not responding)." I kill that process and still nothing happens. I shut down the laptop, disconnect from the network, and boot again and it will come up to the proper screen. I then shut down, reconnect the pigtail, & start it up and the user gets the network logon screen. Need some assistance on why this is not working.

The Dreaded Communications package is throwing a fit somewhere. Try these in order.
1. Uninstall the client software and remove all the protocols and network connections in Network Neighborhood. Restart and reset-up all the above back.
2. If that didn't work then Do #1 again then go into Add-Remove Programs and then Windows Setup and uncheck the Communications and restart when asked to. Then Go back anrecheck the Communications and Restart the put back the clients and protocols and restart and see if that works.

I Had this problem because I had a palm pilot conected to com2 and a strobe scanner connected to com1. Wrong! Palm pilot must be connected to com1 and everythig else has to settle for com2. Palm Pilot will not support com2. It's what they said when I called them. "We do not support Com 2." ???
