A cookie infiltrated my Norton Personal Firewall, and in "Advanced Options - Firewall" there the above file that's getting access to my 'puter. How can I find out what it is and what it does? If it's responsible, I'll get rid of it.

well if it's a spyware cookie that set this up , you could try running Ad Aware to see if that spots it , then you can use the delete function to dump the offending cookie ,and any others it finds and you don't want. If you're sure msbb.exe is not a needed part of your programs , try moving it to a different folder , to make sure things still work right. If NONE of your programs fail or complain of it being missng , dump it.

I wish we wouldn't associate cookies with spyware. They are entirely different things and there is no relationship between them.

I, too, wondered what this was when it first appeared. I have AdAware and it doesn't recognize it as a spy or an ad. I noticed it when I ran Zone Alarm (freeware) fire wall and it asked me if I wanted it to have access to the Internet. Then I remembered when this first appeared: It was after I downloaded a free ISP called DotNow. I still have no idea what it does, but whether I allowed it access to the Internet or not through Zone Alarm it has not done anything malicious to my PC.
