Reply: (edit)Unless you are in love with the PIM and Calendar, dump Outlook pronto. Outlook Express is a far better Email client, and much, much more stable. If you must download SR1 and SR2 updates for Office '97 from MS (you must register, and the downloads are huge).

Reply: (edit)Petr, try to recreate your profile for Outlook '97 (i.e. Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, Mail..) Delete your previous profile, and create a new one with the same settings.

Reply: (edit)I had the same problem. Microsoft has a solution on their technet website. Article Q167616. It is a simple fix which involves renaming the views.dat file, then restarting. Outlook will rebuild the file. Good luck.

Reply: (edit)I ran into the same problem and what it turned out to be was a corrupted ACL (AutoCorrect list) file. Do a find file and rename all of them except the one named MSO97.ACL - (you should find one named .acl) - msarticle Q160552
