I need help setting up firefox. I need to be able to play embedded .mpeg, .mp3 and .avi files in mozilla firefox without having a media player popup and play that file. is there a plugin out there i can use. I went on Mozilla's website and after going to the plugin section when i click on real player it tell me to install the real player media player and not a plugin. I also searched on google with no results. Is ther anyone out there who knows where to get pluging for the above file formats.

Thanks in advance.

firefox refers to quicktime, for *.mov,*.mpeg,and *.mp3,
if not already installed, you can try it:
QT Download
note though itunes may create conflicts with mediaplayer, *.avi refers to windows mediaplayer,
you'll need to reset quicktime control panel settings after installing, for browser plugin, check mime settings

Quicktime 7 requires Win2K or XP

correct: you'll require older version (6.5)for win98:
QuickTime 6.5.2 for Windows ME, 98, 2000 and XP

if you do choose to use it,its 23mb installer,

Most files require a third-party software that integrates with the browser, allowing the file to indeed open from the browser, but not within the browser. Other than the Quicktime files that may run in the Firefox window, I don't know if what you want to do is possible.

I hope that makes sense.
