While installing Win95 the mouse is detected and even enbled while install is going on. When Win95 restarts to update the files, there is no longer any functioning mouse. When I go into Control Panel/System/ the Mouse has an ! thru the Yellow Warning sign. In Properties, it says System failure: Try reinstalling the driver .... I would
appreciate anyone with information on this problem.

I had this same problem. At control panel, system, device drivers, delete the mouse. then restart your system. the Mouse should be reinstalled with the reboot. If not reinstall the drivers that came with the mouse. Best of luck

I had a similar problem...
Sometimes windows95 would say it couldnt detect a mouse, and other times after a short while, the pointer used to jump about all over the screen when you moved the mouse. Loading a mouse driver in do through autoexec.bat sorted out the detection problem (most of the time). But sometimes the dos driver couldn't detect a mouse.

Soloution's...
1. Manually assign IRQ 3 and 4 to Legacy ISA
in the bios - if you have a serial mouse. (otherwise the serial ports won't be assigned IRQ's all the time).

2. The soloution I finally sorted the whole thing out with was to get a very powerful chasis fan for my case because after months of useless tech support I figured out that the motherboard was getting too hot and after 20 mins or so of operation the mouse used to bugger up. And when the computer was left off for 30 mins the mouse would be fine for a bit.

Hi everyone,
maybe it's not the same problem as yours but I had a similar problem yesterday. If your mouse don't work; go to your BIOS and check if there is any conflict or two serial port using the same driver if so just change it same think if your printer don't work.
