mouse problem

There is problem with my laptop n go to safe mode, which i have solve the problem. But now everytime i turn on, it goes to start menu and require to choose. And also I found out that when i go to safe mode, my laptop trackpoint is not working, and the pc prompt me that no mouse is detected. So would of you, computer experts, pls advise what should I do. PS:My trackpoint is in working order in normal mode but not in safe mode. Your advice are very much appreciated. Kindly give more advices. Thank you very much Yvonne

Click Start, Run, type in MSCONFIG, click OK, click Advanced, uncheck Enable Startup Menu. Click Ok, Ok, and restart computer when prompted.

Your mouse probably does not conform to microsoft standard driver requirements, so the default driver will not operate it. Have you tried using a microsoft mouse in there?

Windows does not load your trackpoint driver in safe mode. Only the standard mouse driver is loaded as Dave02 said..

If your mouse is usb then probably won'd be recognized in safe-mode. I had to buy an adapter to solve this same problem, except mine was using a desk-top pc...if your laptop can only use usb mouse connection, then you may want to go to one of the major computer/electronic/office stores and make friends w/ a knowledgable sales-person. Ask them--but don't feel you have to buy something, just because they may recommend it. good luck.
