Have you opened Device Manager in Safe Mode and checked the Mouse entry? Tried removing and reinstalling the mouse?

Go back to Device Manager in Safe Mode, and remove all 4 mouse entries. Restart the computer. There should only be one entry, whether in Normal Mode or Safe Mode.

Those 'ghost' entries may be the problem.

When the Bios detects a temperature that is above the warning level or a voltage out of tolerance it beeps. Enter the Bios and check the temps and voltages.

Hi y'all,

How old is the mouse?
Have you cleaned it?
Have you tried a different mouse?

Peace

i had a similar problem where my mouse and keyboard would freeze up but i knew my computer was still working fine because evetually the screen saver loaded and things like that.before the mouse freezes the pointer would freeze and turn into the sand timer picture (indicating something is loading )it would do this a few times and then just freeze completely. this made it seem like ther was some kinda virus on my comp or sumthing, cracking into my mouse and freezing it. any how i just reinstalled windows and my mouse works again but ocassionally i get the freezing and the sand timer thing happening xcept it dosent completely freeze, im afraid that im gettin the same problem as i did before i reinstall windows.

helppp!!!
