My mouse is acting up. I installed quicken and since then my mouse does not work when windows in normal mode. My system has Norton Antivirus and I removed it thinking this could be the culprit. My mouse works when on safe mode. Please help how do I correct my mouse situation.

Careful Alex ! I posted the same question twice and people scolded and insulted me for bothering them so much. I wonder if it's a possibility that the mouse itself has some kind of quirk that makes it not respond to the drivers. Got a different mouse you can try? Did you try removing Quicken?

Ordinarily this sounds like a conflict of interests... Check IRQ's for Sound cards, modem etc...
When you boot to SAFE mode, check in Control-panel\System\Device-manager (with My Computer highlighted) and see what IRQ is assigned to the mouse (whichever variety yu are using), and all other deivces that have been loaded.
If when you boot-up 'fully' you can navigate (Keyboard etc?) your way to the Control-panel as described above, again check the IRQ's and look for conflict signs (the yellow (!) or whatever is shown...). Verify what any other add-in's can use (modem sound card etc.); if one or more can use the same IRQ as is assigned to your mouse (as verified via SAFE mode) then change that/those device(s) so as to use another...
If I remember correcttly, some of the assorted kit 'can' access the same IRQ as the mouse...
You could remove all add-in's and re-install one at a time, in order to isolate which one is the problem. Another way is to read the doumentsation with each device and verify what you can use - again avoiding to use the one for the mouse...?
Com-1 (IRQ-4) is usually a serial mouse... and com-2 (IRQ-3) is usually modem; is the modem attempting to use com-1 (and you have a serial mouse)? PSU mouses/mice seems to be often on IRQ12 - which can be used by some sound-cards/modems/NIC's...
Was everything really 'OK' before Quicken???
Quite why this would devlope after installing Quicken??? Possibly you have a conflict within the mouse driver and Quicken's software? Is your version of Quicken OK for '95 (and not just for '98 or higher)? Have you checked with Quicken's web-site for any input??? I'm guessing...
HTH...
