Just got a Gigabyte GA-5SMM motherboard from ebay. Installed the board and powered it up. Started using Fdisk to format the new hard drive and it shut down when doing the drive integrity check. Now when it is turned on, it automatically shuts off in a few seconds. I get no picture and it constantly beeps when it is first turned on. (If it stays on for more than a few seconds). I've tried to reset the bios and disconnected everything and still no solution. Think this is a motherboard or power suppy issue?

try reseating your ram and cpu. could be a mobo problem but if the mobo is stuffed you normally would'nt get any responce at all.

I've reseated the RAM several times with no luck. I will check the CPU.

It only stays powered for a few seconds, so it gets to beep only once before it shuts down. It is award bios.

I think I figured it out. When I remove the memory and start up the computer, I get a constant beep and the computer does not shut down. It looks like the memory is bad
