pc chips 486 dx 66 motherboard dont know id number but has cyrix chip installed as above . will not take cd rom (nec) suspect bios fault ? but also has a quantum prodrive els on ide. board is vesa tried changing hdd interface board (ide) no luck ! tried using other port on als 100 soundcard no luck either ! please help

You can get a lead by checking the FCC ID against the database at www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

Sometime the FCC number is not marked on the board. Hopefully a part number is marked somewhere on the MB.

A good source of MB info which includes "Spot" the MB identifier is at:
www.motherboards.org
