I'm pretty sure that it's just because of the age of the monitor, but I thought I'd be better to ask before I throw it away/give to the poor.
All traces of red in my old monitor have turned into black. It's not just the colour red that's affected, it's every single colour that contains any trace of the colour red. Like, pink is blue, etc.
I checked for bent pins, installed new drivers, tried it on different computers, but it doesn't seem to be helping. It's about 6 or 7 years old, and we've just recently moved, and it probably got a shake up during the moving process, seeing as it only started happening after we moved.
Is there any way to fix this? I would hate to have to buy a new monitor for a computer I hardly use.

If it's not a pin then it's either a break in the cable or (more likely) the colour gun is shot or badly misaligned. Cable 'might' be replaceable, but if it's the gun that's pretty much it.
2nd hand monitor ought to be fairly reasonable in price - computer isn't much good without one.
