Comment:

I installed this monitor yesterday (Acer P224Wbd) and it was fine except that there were some minor display problems.
I right clicked on my desktop into "properties" and attempted to get the settings correct. I must have clicked a wrong button because now everything seems to display "off screen."
It's weird. I have done everything I know since. Set the computer to an earlier date, re-set the monitor to factory settings, nuttin.
When I hooked up my old monitor everything was fine.
When I booted in safe mode, everything was fine.
When I restarted, ugh, back to blue screen with only a "start" on the bottom, and again everything opening up "off screen."
I even replaced the monitor thinking that it was the problem.
Nope, same s---, different day!

HELP!!!!!!

Boot to safe mode again, open display properties and choose to keep those setting. Save and reboot. It should reboot to normal mode with the safe mode video settings. Then you can adjust as needed.

The native resolution for your monitor is 1680 x 1050. Make sure you have the latest video drivers installed.

Dave, first, thank you for the reply.

I know how to boot to safe mode, but exactly what are you telling me to do after that? I'm no geek so I kinda need specifics so I don't blow up the damn computer!

You can't blow up a computer unless you do something EXTREMELY stupid!

To enter safe mode, tap the F8 key during bootup. Once you get in, adjust the resolution setting, click apply, then reboot.
