If you are not Networking .
Click on Start --> Settings --> Control Panel , double click on the Network icon .
All you need in this Window is Dial-Up-Adaptor & TCP/IP.
Delete the others .
Ignore the warning message about not being complete . That's OK .
If you ever need to Network , you can add them on again .

I'm not the original poster but perhaps this will be of interest:

I only get the ocassional dial-out hang up but I thought I'd try your suggestion (for those who are "not" Networked).

The only other entry was Microsoft Family Logon so in "cavallier fashion" I knocked it out and rebooted. The result was Invalid Password on both IE and OE.
I popped it back and all is fine again.

I wonder if I misunderstood, or if there is something else I need to have done. The other possibility is that I am on W98SE and perhaps you directed this only to the poster, who is on W95.

Yep, thanks Johnw - I should have checked the links that you already gave. I've seen them before but pressed on since Kerio keeps everyhing off (including me if I aint careful).

Anyhow, you've raised my interest so I'll set aside time to give them a whirl.

Derek
