Everytime I go online with Aol it takes 2 tries to make it. I checked my Modem settings, it shows Com 4 and Com 5. I know its on Com 5, so I deleted Com 4 but it keeps coming back on reboot. How do I fix this? Thanks much Toby

All serial ports are listed in control panel--modems--diagnostics. Only one should have a modem associated with it (assuming you only have one modem). Is a modem associated with both com4 and com5?

I have trouble connecting with some of my local AOL numbers. Have you tried a different number?

Had to create new account, it would not accept my old password..tried new one, still didn't work. No there is no modem on Com 4. The problem is in Aol settings. I re-did setup but it keeps coming baack....thanks Toby

Is this a USRobotics modem? If so this is a known issue with some of their modems - they have a fix on their website.
