I can not get my 56Kflex modem to work. When I install it, it says it was installed successfully, but when I go to diagnostic and ask for more info it says that may the interrupt is wrong. I've got it on com2 and also tried com1,3&4. There are no jumpers on the modem, must be software controlled. Modem brand is PCTel, Inc. I do not seem to have any interrupt conflicts. The modem was working before I decided to reformat the hard drive and reload win95B.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

One thing that may help is if you have only one serial port enabled in bios. But, it doesn't sound like you've changed anything there, so this may not be of any value.

The modem is now working. The problem apparantly was a bad install of win95. I reinstalled and now okay.

My modem installs ok on com port 2, but it adds the driver on com port 3.The interupt is install on com 2, interupt on com 4.The wizard can,t find the modem ,but it,s there in the Modem properties tab,and my ISP can't automatically find it either.when i manually install it.I get an error message saying ,that it is not turned on or another program is using it.
modem wizard says the same thing.
