Comment:

I have been trying to reinstall a Conexant HCF modem in a Win98 system for a friend. He had loaded the US drivers for the modem and so it wasn't working. I have deleted the modem, restarted the computer, and reinstalled using the correct NZ drivers. At this point the modem appears to be correctly installed under Device Manager. However when I select properties I get this error message. "Could not call EnumPropPages in modemui.dll"

When I go to use Dial Up Networking no valid Modem is installed.

Any help you could give me on this matter would be much appreciated.

Ian

have you tried switching com ports?
cheat if you have a friend with me copy the inf folder to a cdrom (have the me cdrom handy) when searching for a driver point it to the inf folder (me was better at detection)
after picks up insert 98 disk if gripes about version insert me disk and if still gripes make sure when it prompts for the file that it isnt listing a path as well for instance might be cab 1 on 98 but cab 12 on me delete the path and point it should work

in fact i carry a disk with all inf versions from 98 through netserver on one disk (try to keep as close in versions as possible
98 -me
me -xp home or 2x
2x use xp
xp -netserver

etc
