Modem is not detected

I purchased a amptron motherboard with sis 530 chipset. I install a hsp 56k modem. Windows 98 does not detect the modem. The modem is installed firmly in the pci slot.

any ideas

Choose Add New Hardware, but this time, look for the device yourself instead of letting Windows find it. When you get to the screen that says "Have Disc", insert the driver disc and click OK. Might have to do it more then once or change the sequence.
