Can anyone advise me on how to access my modem initialization string in WIN95 so I can change my settings. I am trying to change my settings value from S36= to S36=7 Hayse default settings on a NewCom 33.6 ifx to try to aid in connection problems I have been having. (Got this tip from WinPlanet) Thanks.

add these to the int string by going to control pannel, modems, properties, connection, advanced, extra settings line. Use lower case. Also check record a log file. If the returns "error" for any setting DUN will abort the call. Go to modemlog.txt in windows folder to see which command returned error. The string is actually sent in 3 parts. If v0 is in the string then the modem returns result codes, if v1 DUN will tranlate the codes useing the inf ( could be wrong). Best to look up the codes your self.
