I have recently purchased a used Toshiba Satellite Pro 490CDT with a fitted internal V90 Modem. When using MS Connection Manager I receive the Error saying 'The Modem is not Responding'. If I use MS Dial-up Networking I receive Error Code 630 stating 'The Modem is not responding correctly, check Modem or connections'. I do not have any problems with conection and I believe that the Modem is functioning correctly as I can Dial-out using the ATDT command from the HyperTerminal facility without any problems. Can anyone guide me towards what the problem might be? If I fit a PCMCIA Modem and use the same MS Connection Manager there is not a Problem, all works OK. I do not want to use my PCMCIA Modem as I already use the 2 sockets for other uses.
