I am planning to build my own pc,but im a bit confused as to motherboard/processor compatabillity.
I'd like to use a 1.0 to 1.5 gig processer, the pc for general home use mainly gaming and internet.
Can anyone give me a bit of advice as to what i should be looking for before i possibly buy the wrong components and waste my money.
Or good websites that cover this type of thing.thanks

Gaz,
Your best bet is to read reviews, read some more reviews, and then go back and read those reviews again when it comes to motherboards.
If your a big gamer, I've heard that FIC makes great gaming motherboards.
As far as processors go, it's hard to screw up in that department. From the speed ranges you stated, it should be fairly easy to find a board that suits your needs. I, personally, would recommend an Athlon Thunderbird processor...their a little cheaper than Pentiums and really kick ass when it comes to gaming.
There are usually two kinds of Athlon processors: Ones that have 200FSB (front side bus) and 266FSB...you'll gain a little more speed (and pay a *little* more) for the 266FSB, but make sure your motherboard states that it can handle the 266FSB (most do).
When it comes to motherboards, I really like ASUS. I'm running one right now that I really love...it takes DDR RAM (another thing you may look into).
If your looking for good prices on motherboards, your best bet is to go to http://www.pricewatch.com and compare. But, sometimes I would recommend buying one in a local PC store in case something drastic was to happen to any of the compoents.
Hope that helps...

The best advice that I can give is to buy the motherboard and CPU as a pair. This avoids any compatibility and configuration problems.
