mmsound.drv cannot be loaded.. Please help.

I have a system here where i work, and when attempting to get into Windows, it brings up the error "mmsound.drv cannot be loaded" and the system quickly goes to the shutdown screen. Here are a few things i tried:
I tried remming the line out in the system.ini. It then brings a fatal exception OE upon beggining of windows.
Is there any known way around this without wiping the drive??

hi, if you are using windows 98 that's the biggest problem to fix it try to fin VxD Fix on the internet it work!!!
