I can't start up Win 98 because it says I'm missing 2 files. lmouse.vxd and lmul.vxd. I cannot find my Win 98 CD...help!!

You won't find them on the Win98 CD cuz they're not MS drivers. The "l" in the driver name would maybe suggest, Logitech? Are you using a Logitech mouse?

Try booting into safe mode, right after the RAM checking screen the very next one being the Windows logo or the next black screen press F8 right away repeatidly!! You should goto a Boot menu. Choose Safe mode. then if your computer can boot into safe mode re-install the mouse driver. Hope this helps.

Geoff: First, the vxds referenced here are not part of vmm32 Second, The problem with VMM32 is an urban myth. There is nothing wrong with the implementation. The logic used to try an illustrate the failure is severely flawed. The ONLY way that the vmm32 fix could possibly solve any problems is if you have copied the vmm32.vxd from the win cd (which is a shell) or copied it from another PC (the file is specific to your pc).
