Wowee, be pretty darned careful putting XP files on W98 (especially system.ini). They are often very different and could cause you no end of trouble.

I think the exact message was something to the affect that the registry or system.ini was calling the file. Yeah, I doubt the XP file was the thing to do. Just reinstall your network adapter drivers as already mentioned.

Hi davey607, WebsWonder, mavis007, Derek, DAVEINCAPS, hi everyone
I do believe that ndiswan.vxd is related to the Novell Netware IPX/SPX transport protocol which usually is not needed in a home environment. So you can go into your Network environment properties and remove the IPX/SPX protocol.
BTW, once more my apologies for having had two of your earlier entries removed. As I wrote in my PM to you they violated the terms and rules that apply here. (http://www.computing.net/forums/rules.html)

Usually this means you need to install/re-install your video drivers. If you haven't got a CD then you will need to search the internet for them.
Before doing so check in Control Panel > System to make sure there is no error showing (in "Sound, video and game controllers"). Sometimes if you delete the video drivers from there they will correct themselves on reboot.
