Just to clarify Kris:
The Quick Launch bar is just to the right of the Start button. The system tray is just to the left of the clock. The taskbar is between these two and indicates what you are currently running.
If you do mean the Quick Launch bar then right click on the taskbar in a blank area, select "Toolbars" and then make sure Quick Launch is ticked.
If you mean the System Tray then take a look at the posting immediately above this one (115257).
