I had big problem whit my win98se, there was deleted a couple of files:
vfd.vxd, javasup.vxd, pnphlp.vxd, chimouse.vxd, msmouse.vxd, vfixd.vxd

I don't know how.Win was working perfectly.But when I started it last time it show me a message that some files missing.

I tried all ways that are you described but it didn't work.It only work when I extracted files from my win98SE cd and copyed them to hard drive

Try explaining the actual problem in detail, and provide the exact error messages and circumstances, as your situation is difficult to comprehend

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

Using Google it seems to be talking about "Daemon Tools" and "CD/DVD burning software".

Does that mean anything to you? Maybe you need to uninstall and re-install one or both to get your file back.

Sure - - context is always good. Giving folks what they ask for doesn't necessarily solve the problem (identifying the problem can be a helpful first step though)
