Hi, when I start up my computer, it says I'm missing Vnetsup.vxd, Vredir.vxd, dfs.vxd, and Msnp32.dll. Can someone help me? I've tried to get the files off my Windows 98 CD but it says they do not exist??? Thanks

Go to Control Panel / Network icon and delete Client for Microsoft Networks.
Reboot, and missing file message should disappear.
You can then Add back Client... if you particularly want it.

You cannot locate many of the files on the Windows install CD with a 'Find' command as they are compressed as .CAB files and somewhat hidden. There is a procedure for extracting them. But it is not all that simple, especially if Response #1 works for you...

Hi
It's easy to get rid of these error mssgs...
The Files you need are on the Win98 Installation disk, but they need to be extracted.
And this is how it works: Go to Start/Run and enter SFC. In the dialog Box you mark 'Extract one file from installation disk', then enter the name of one of the missing files (Vredir.vxd), then restore them from your CD-ROM drive), you may skip the Backup and the file will be reinstalled. Repeat these steps for each of the missing files.

i have a problem, when ever i start my computer. this what comes up...
can not find device file that may be need to run windows or windows apication.

the windows registry or system. ini file refes to this drive file but the device no longer exists.

if you deleted this file on purpose, try uninstalling the associated application using it unstall or set up program

if you still want to use the aplication associated with this device file try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file.
c:\progra~1\mcafee\mcafee~3\safe&s~1\fbwub95.vxd

when i go to put this in all its will tell me that it is a bad command..
