Subject: Missing File or Corrupted Himen.sys ..error in config.sys on line 2 |
Comment: When I on my pc, my computer says disk boot failure. So I enter my system disk. Then it says missing file or corrupted Himen.sys. It also says error in config.sys line 2. I cannot access C drive after I insert my boot diskette. I cannot copy thus the a new cofig.sys to my c drive to replace the error. Any idea?

Reply: (edit)Might try checking your BIOS before you give up. See if your hard drive is still listed under "Primary Master" or "Secondary Master", etc. If it isn't, configure it properly. If it is, looks like trouble.

Reply: (edit)Try getting some drivers for your cd-rom and install them. then reload windows on to your hard drive and it should copy the files back.

Reply: (edit)I just bought a new motherboard, installed it, and used the old memory out of my HP Pavilion, lately ive been getting "While initializing device VKD: Windows protection error you need to restart your computer, then when I hit a button a few times I get, Internal Stacks overflow, change the stacks settings in your config.sys file and try again. The motherboard tech said it's in the memory and told me to buy some new memory, I did and i still get it, not as much but it still happens, does anyone have any ideas at all? Please help

Reply: (edit)try starting your comp with the boot disk and at the dos prompt type sys c: this will transfer the system files to your c drive and replace himem.sys then press ctl or f8 and do a confirmation load not loading windows drivers, this will get you into safe mode and allow you to use the internet. edit the config.sys file using msconfig.exe
