Missing file on boot-up

Yesterday I came across something really nasty that started placing multiple files, etc. on my computer. I have updated and run Spybot and Ad-aware, and it seems that the programs have been removed. However, I now get an error message on boot-up saying that a program cannot run because the nmtracer.dll file is missing. What should I do?

Thanks for your help! Nielsen/NetRatings was installed on my computer. I was able to remove it through Add/Remove Programs, and now everything seems to be fine.
