Hello i installed a wireless network card and the software that came with it in my laptop but when trying to access it i get a message saying the wl service.exe file is linked to missing export advapi32.dll change service config 2a. did file search and found file in c:windows/system but ran sfc anyway and still get error message what should i do? and how do i change service config 2a? Here's a similar message associated with a different file, but the solution is the same. Since the message started when you installed the card I'd think you have the wrong version rather than a corrupted file.

thank you for your response,i tried that already using 2 different 98se discs still get error message, do you know what change service config 2a means? Scott

Apparently 'change service config 2a' is some code the W1 service.exe file expects to find in advapi32.dll but can't--again most likely because it's corrupted or the wrong version. If you do a google search for the file you may be able to find a newer version than what is on the 98 disk.
