When I start up my PC I get an error message
C:WINDOWS\NEWDOT~1.DLLI seem to be able to link to the Net, but no pages appear. The PC itself seems to be working okay.
Do I have to reinstall Windows, or is there another way to get it back???
I've got Windows98, Pentium III

You have a problem that affected many people. This Newdotnet is like cancer. Check out the link below which should help you resolve this problem. Here's the link:

Under novell 5.1, when I changed the Winseclevel for a user, windows give me the following message;
The programm made a illegal operation.....
Details : MPREXE ; Kernel32.DLL.What can I do to fixe this problem???

Tufenuf - thanks for your help, at least I know what the problem is now, but I’m still having problems sorting it out.
I know I should re-install the new.net, then un-install it properly, which should sort it out. But because I must have accidently deleted the DLL file, I can’t link to the Net on my PC, & when I try to download it to floppy disc at work it doesn’t give me that option, just downloads it straight to my PC.
The site does say it’s not available as a stand alone plug-in, so is there anywhere else I could get it from, or could anyone email it to me as an attachment (if that would work??)
Sanglier Pascal – sorry I can’t help with that one

feena, I would contact the Newnet Support link via e-mail from the link on the site below. They should be able to give you detailed info on how to get your PC up and running. Here's the link again.

I mailed New.net yesterday & they replied with a (hopeful!) solution. It sounds like they know its a common problem.
"Here are (the VERY long!) directions to remove the plug-in from the registry. If you don't mind, could you please explain the events that lead to the file disappearing? If we can gather the information and duplicate it internally we can remedy this situation in the future.
The procedure below is very detailed. Please follow each step carefully. If you have a question or are not sure about a particular step, please ask as soon as possible. Also, if you would rather a technician walk you through this procedure over the phone; please call us at (626)229-7800, Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm Pacific Standard Time."
I'll post up on Monday to let you know if it worked!

When I try to start yahoo messenger it says that a file is missing....the file is IDLE.dll
I found that file on a web site...but when you download it...where do you download it to..save to disk or run from current location. Can anyone help? Please

Ang, Save to disk and then put a copy in your Program Files\Yahoo\Messenger directory(folder) and I'd also put a copy in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory(folder). I personally don't have Yahoo but I believe putting copies where I stated should correct your problem. If you have a freind who has Yahoo Messenger ask them where their IDLE.DLL is located on there system. Hope this helps.

It works, I'm back online!!!!
I've been away, that's why it's a while since the last post - but I'm SO HAPPY!!!!
