Isn't that odd. A week after I setup my computer that dfs.vxd message appeared in my start up as well. Never figured out why but a friend e-mailed to me so I will pass it on to you. If I have the others and are able to I will send them as well. Good luck. Caio

Please send me the file(s) too! I only have the commtask.386 problem. I DID have system.ini but that one was kind of my fault! Any advise would be appreciated. I am thinking the commtask file is some kind of MS fax thing?

I had upgraded to Win98 Second Edition and because my machine ran too slow, I uninstalled Win98. Now when Win95 boots I, too, get the message, missing commtask.386 file. I would be very happy if someone could send it to me. Thanks a bunch.

all of you have deleted your network files. You have to reinstall tcp/ip, netbeui, and microsoft networks in your network file. it's pretty easy to do but email if you need better instructions. as for system.ini, that's another issue

You did not delete the files on purpose. Its what the father says: that there are problems with TCP/IP etc etc, just de-install all internet protocols & network protocols and install them once again. problemo is gono
