I think vmm32 is a virtual memory manager am I right ? are you running on win 95?
Anyway go to www.driverguide.com see if you can find it there.

If you don't find it, post your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. Then you can save it to c:\windows\system.

if your missing that file, then your probably missing more in the windows\system\ dir. u may have to reinstall

I remember having this problem (years ago), trying a manual fix and realizing that the file was more like a directory!
Way to go , Blazer (only 2 urls?)

Please guide me to download the file C:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd which is missing as revealed from the control panel. I am working on windows 98. configuration is 233MMX pentium processor.

Please send me the details about downloading the file and installing it as soon as possible for which I shall be highly grateful.

I'm having the same problem only that mine goes with "windows protection error. you may need to start your computer." It came up after i reformatted my hard drive and had windows installed. i have not been able to start windows 'cos of this message"C:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd:missing/unable to load."
