Reply: (edit)I'm somewhat puzzled why SFC would have any gripes about 'cshook.vxd' as this virtual device driver has nothing to do with Windows. I would be interested to know if you have tried searching for the file on your HD? If, perchance it is present on your system, try deleting it and running SFC again. Vito

Reply: (edit)cshool, I believe, belongs to a McAfee product. If you have uninstalled/deleted one then when you run SFC it is going to tell you about files that WERE there the last time you ran it, and are no longer there (since it has been uninstalled) Just select the verification option.

Reply: (edit)To get rid of it for good, go to Start, Run, and type Regedit. Once opened, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services. There you will find a folder names CSHOOK. Delete it. Your problems will be solved...
