I have a real problem. When my system boots up I have no access to the two CD ROMS fitted to the computer. Looking at the device manager panel I have an ! mark on the primary IDE Controller (dual FIFO). If I look at the properties for this item and under device usage I disable it and then re-start the system. I find when I look at the device manager again I see an X next to the primary IDE Controller (dual FIFO). If I then go the properties again and click on the Enable device button every ting is OK. Now the Problem. When I shut down and then switch on the computer on again. I am back to the same situation no access to the CD ROM.
What am I doing wrong or missed out to do??? HEEELP

try putting the dc-rom on the secondary ide cable if you have room. i don't know how many drives you have but if you have more than two swap them around untill you find a combination that works.

In Device Manager, remove all the entries under Hard Disk Controllers, then reboot. Windows will automatically reinstall the controller drivers. Good luck...Krystyna
