Can I upgrade the BIOS of a 'Micro-Star inc. MS-6159' motherboard to be compatible with a 'Diamondplus 8 40Gb' hard drive?(current 4.1Gb) I know the motherboard is old and I have checked Micro-star website, but have not found any information, please help

This is the most recent bios upgrade on their site:

MS-6159

It doesn't say what the HD max is. You'll just have to try it and see.

Greetings:
There is an outside chance the PC manufacturer, if any, has an upgrade BIOS to enable support for a bigger HDD at its support website.

Hi

Another option is to use a pci ide card. Generally these cards offer better support for newer ide devices.
