THE FOLLOWING OCCURED AFTER GETTING TH "HAPPY99" WORM VIRUS. THE NORTON SITE HAD A FIX. I AM GETTING AN ERROR OPENING AUDIOSTATION 32 (MICROSOFT C++ RUNTIME ERROR)IT IS ON THE FILE "CDSERVER.EXE" IN C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON\VOYETRA\CDSERVER FOLDER. I HAVE NOT REFORMATED MY HARDDRIVE BUT I HAVE REINSTALL WINDOWS 98 AND BOUGHT THE AUDIOSTATION 32 AND TRIED REINSTALLING THAT SOFTWARE. I SILL GET THE ERROR. ONLY THE CDPLAYER COMPONENT DOES NOT LOAD. AFTER ANSWERING OK TO THE ERRORS AUDIOSTATION COMES UP AND WORKS EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE CD COMPONENT. WHAT ARE THE EXACT STEPS I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I DO NOT SEE IN THE REMOVE PROGRAMS ANYTHING THAT SAYS AUDIOSTATION (32) TO REMOVE. I HAVE SEARCHED THE NET FOR ANSWERS BUT HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING TO SOLVE THIS. IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE I NEED TO DO. THE SOUND CARD IS MONTEGO II PRO PLUS

Alright what I'm about to say will hopefully help you people in some way because I know how frustrating this error is. I got the same thing and couldn't get into my desktop~ Anyway this is what you do: restart your PC and when the diagnostic stuff runs -- like the info about your PC right when the system starts up-- before that screen goes away press F8. Then you will get a menu, choose #5 "Command Prompt Only". Then you should be in dos after a few sec. Now type "c:/" (without the quotes) so that your in the C drive. Then type "cd windows" and press enter, then type "cd options" and press enter, then type "cd cabs" and then finally type "setup". After this you should get the "ScanDisk" program which should fix that error automatically. Also if you have to then it'll make you restart your PC, so you'll go back to the DOS screen, you can just press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart, or you can just turn the power off then on. Anyway this will probably require you to Re-Install Windows 9.x after it restarts. I had this problem with "explorer.exe" when I started up my system and I have Windows 98, but this'll probably work for 95 and 2000 too. --->>NOTE: You may loose SOME information on your drive like things in the registry and other configurations, but you should still have all the files on your HD though. If all else fails then call your Tech Support.
