microphone not working

Hi,
I had working mic, tried outside on other PCs,it worked well. At home on AC97 onboard card on Intel motherboard, speakers are working fine, mic is not working. microphone slider is disabled. Advanced options of microphone control below, bass,tremble are disabled. avance Ac97 drivers are properly installed as speakers are working fine.

verify that it is plugged into mic input, open ^control panels ^Multimedia properties , ^Audio > recording , select available device,
in recording control, microphone[•] should only be selected, raise volume switch up, and test, verify properties is recording device [•] is selected

Yeah, also doubleclick the speaker in the tray and check not muted.

Yes, i tried recording in sndrec32 with mic plugged (unchecked all mutes) in correct socket, the recorded message is not audible, mic is still not working properly. Any Help ??
