Just added 128mb pc133 memory to existing 256mb pc133. Now i notice the system resources start running low and the computer will freeze after about an hour. Issues are: Does the placement of the modules affect the performance? I think they r different brands. How does this affect it?
The amount of RAM that you have has absolutely no effect on system resources. If they are running low you are probably running too many applications or you have a resource hog.
Make sure the 256 is in the first slot (The top one)and the 128 right under it. You may have a bad stick of ram 128. I have had a lot of them show up bad sence the price drop in ram,a bad bit. Make sure they are in the slot real good sometime's they look in ok but, not. My way of detecting bad ram or something wrong w/ram is to run scandisk and it will frezze up vary quickly. Make sure you mobo will support 384. That it for me maybe somebody else can tell you some more stuff to try.

If you have problems running Solitaire you have RAM problems.
