I got an error message during posting.

cpu found
memory test ok
hard drive found
cd-drive found
memory test fail
f1 to continue f2 to setup

I checked extended memory and basic memory by norton utilities. There was no problem in the hardware. What's the problem??
Thanks

Fred,
Most likely you have one of the chips on one of the simms/dimms defective. try removing the simm/dimm one at a time (if you have more than one). when you remove the defective one all your checks at boot up should go ok. to confirm the defective one, remove the one that just worked & replace it with the suspect one. You don't say how much ram you have or how many simms/dimms you have. If you have simms you need at least 2 to complete a bank, as with dimms you only need one to complete a bank.
