when I click on a WAV file to play the music I get an error message that tells me that I either don't have the proper Mediadet.exe file or it's corrupt, so that I won't be able to play the file. Then the player appears and I play the music. How can I get rid of that annoying message. THANKS.

I would suggest converting your WAVs to MP3s and use Winamp. :-)

that's the dumbest suggestion I've ever heard. how is that supposed to fix the problem?
It sounds like you installed some sort of media player at one time then delted it. Windows is still looking for that player to play the files. Go into Windows explorer, hold down the shift key and right click on a wave file. Select "open with" and choose which player you would like to have play the files. Also put a checkmark next to "always use this program".

I tried to follow those instuctions that the second reply gave, but when I hold the shift key down and right click on a WAV file, I don't get an "Open with" option. Can you give more detail? THANKS to all that replied.
