Does anybody know what file all the data in the media libary is contained?

You have the ability to edit data for each file such as title, artist, etc. I am installing a new computer and will be transfering all of this users files to the new computer. She would like to not have to go back in and edit the hundreds of songs that she has, and I can't blame her. If I can find this particular file, that would make life so much easier.

Thanks for your help, and this great website!

If you also go into regedit..use find folder search.
Then go into HKEY CURRENT USER...go to software/microsoft/mediaplayer.You might want to delete the files shown in that registry too.

The file you want is in c:\windows.

It's :-

wmplibrary_v_0_12.db

It copies over a treat and all your playlists come back again.
