media player 9 is not playing vcd

when i try playing vcd, there is sound but without image. i download media player 9 (and realplayer too) from microsoft and reinstall but to no avail. this are my pc specs, hope someone could help

You could try Xing MPEG player. Ii is a s/w that I've been using for quite some time now and find that it can play VCDs the mplayer cannot. In fact I've been able to play all vcds i got with Xing Mpeg player. Try www.downloads.com and download a tril version.

try downloading some CODECs for the player. Try using powerdvd as an alternate player

just tried that and installed. still no image.
p.s : i've also tried realone player, winamp and quicktime. none works. please keep posting.....

I just downloaded a freeware vcd player at this site today. It works for me when realplayer and mediaplayer both crapped out as usual. Listed as X-VCD Player v1.1
