Comment:
I recently installed a cd-rw. When i booted it up the mcdex driver did not come up. I installed the driver for it, and then booted it up again, but still no mcdex. The cd-rw works fine and it is displayed in the device manager. My question is, should i worry that mcdex is not loading up with the boot up, or should i just leave it as it is. And if I should put these drivers in, how do i do it? thanks in advance

If you're using Win9x, you don't need it and you're better off without it. Win runs best with a blank autoexec.bat and config.sys. The mscdex.exe file will through your system into msdos compatibility mode which you don't want.

Goto start-run type in msconfig Press OK. When the tool opens you'll be at the general tab.Place a dot in Normal Startup. All of your drivers will be loaded.
