I use McAfee version 4.0.03 and on the last update when i try to install the .dat file i get a message that installation failed due to the temp folder may be full. I emptied the temp folder in windows, no good. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Is there a reason that this may be happening or should I just wait for the next update and see if this still happens?

Are you sure it meant the Temp folder in windows? Is there one in the MacAfee folder?

Well guys it seems that I solved this one. I deleted the update.exe and re-downloaded from McAfee and all went well. I suppose the the first download was corrupted?
Yes the temp folder is definitly the one in windows, checked that out too cause I had the same question. McAfee is still the best!

james.

Think for just a moment..You can if you want to..Why do McAfee update the scanning engine?
..Well its so that its keeps upto date without having to BUY a new version like you used to! - Now the hard bit...ready...How upto date is Norton AntiVirus without a engine update...Hmm..Hard one one that!

Gerry - Glad you sorted out your problem without any help from james. I agree with you. McAfee (james note its McAfee not Mcfee or MacAfee) is the most upto date VirusScannor on the market.
