Each week I download the latest DAT file update for my McAfee VShield Version 4.0.2.
Usually no problem..until this week with 4156xdat.exe....when I click to install it returns a Superdat Notify error message:
"Unable to find any qualifying product(s)"
There is no reference to this type of error in the McAfee site and none so far in these FAQs.

Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Paul...Only thing I can think of is a glitch while downloading that corrupted a file. McAfee has 24/7 on line support. Go to McAfee home page, click support, then on-line support. Fill in the blank boxes, 1)product version, 2)issue, the third box has check area for contact live technician. They have been very helpful when I've contacted them for minor problems. See if they can help you.

Howdy, If you are running an older version of McAfee you will get this error. The latest DAT file from McAfee only works with versions 4 and 5 of the software. If you have version 3.x this is why you are getting the error. The only thing you can do is upgrade to a newer version of the software in order to use the latest DAT file. I do not know why they did this but I just found out myself what was causing the error message last week when I ran into the same problem, low and behold. They have version 3.x running on the system, therefore the DAT would not load.

Laters,

KTTD

A few months ago I ran into the same problem. The problem was the file was named wrong.

I sent them an email, they replied and I sent them the following message back.

"As much as I appreciated your lengthy reply, by no means did it address the issue I presented via email.
Since time had passed faster than yours could reply, the issue is moot.
For your ready reference...the file named 4100xdat.exe was not correctly named. It contained the same name as the upgrade from the week before. In essence, there was no data file update for the week starting Oct 17, 2000.
I sent the email in hopes of Mcafee correcting the file name ensuring my continued protection. Since the week has already expired I have already downloaded 4101xdat.exe and continue to feel secure."

Wait until Wednesday when the next one comes out and see if you are all set.

I just downloaded File definition 4.0.4156, and it installed OK... (I have engine 4.1.40, but that shouldn't make any difference from the 4.0.2 that you are running.) I concur with Binksfan's suggestion.

Thanks to all for the replies. I realy think there was something wrong in that 4156xdat.exe file so I'll just wait for the next upgrade and see what happens.
